St Patrick's Day is March for "Thanksgiving"!

Tonight we went to Maryann and Gary's house for St. Patty's day. My mom and Maryann got a great idea about a month ago to have a big party with all of the friends from the block and gorge ourselves on tasty fare. Kyle made 4 crockpots full of corned beef, cabbage, and other veggies. My mom made a layered salad. Jen and Jerry brought the Guinness. My mom and I made a heap of frosted sugar cookies (from Grandma's fabulous recipe). And we all brought ourselves and our appetites. Talk about fantastic! I ate two heaping plates of food, followed by 5 shamrock cookies. More food I think than I even ate on Thanksgiving. I've got a corned beef food baby at the moment. Mmm...that's the way to have a party!

The other star of the day was my St. Patrick's day t-shirt. Last night I drew, cut out by hand, and stenciled 16 shamrocks (onto 2 kelly green t-shirts for Katie and I). The resulting t's are fantastic. I got many compliments today. They feature 7 tumbling shamrocks on the front and 1 on the back.

A webcam snapshot of my cool new St. Patty's day t-shirt.

  1. Wow, that shirt looks even cooler in the picture than when I was wearing mine - the shamrocks really stand out!

  2. Cool shirt! We had similar fair at our house. But, I was just saying to Neil that I think I've reached my corned beef quota for the year. I had a reubin sandwich with the leftovers, and now I don't need any more until next St Patty's day.
