Busy worker bee.

I am certainly a busy worker bee, and my hive (classroom) was buzzing today! Tomorrow is young author's day (where kids spend the day sharing their own personal books with other kids in the school and then have the opportunity to write nice comments to the other authors). Unforutnately, not all of the kids/classes had their books completed! So my morning was spent editing kids' work and assembing others' books. My 4/5 reading group was productive chaos. Some kids were cutting up paper decorations to glue on, others were drawing illustrations or gluing text into their finished books. As they finished, I had all sorts of fun games and activities with presidents and states for the kids to do and finished off the hour by showing some School House Rock. I finished up the last book binding at 2:50 pm -- 15 minutes before the final bell! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I won't do any teaching (nor did I today), but we have enough volunteers coming that I don't have to take a group. Instead, I get to roam around between the classrooms (including my own) and listen to the kids read. The books I've seen are pretty good and hte kids are really excited.

Tonight I'm having dinner with Grampa. We've having a four cheese ravioli bake with italian sausage that Grandma got at Dinners Ready. It smells really good and will be out any moment!
