Sunny Saturday!

The weather man was wrong again. But this time (unlike when it looks like we'll get a lovely snow day, only to wake up to dry or only slightly damp pavement) it was welcome wrong. Today was not drizzly, as predicted, it was bright and sunny! It would've been a perfect day for Folklife, but alas, we are going tomorrow (hopefully it will be just as gorgeous then).

Today we went to see Paula's new condo. It's really nice and has lots of well laid out storage. The only slightly odd feature is that the hallways/entries feel a little like a hotel, not a place where you actually live, but it's a nice strange. Most importantly, Katie and I solved the problem of where to place the grand piano. Where Paula had planned for it to go just wasn't going to work (because the piano would've become the center of everything, and would've made the room feel unnecesarily small). So after lunch at the High Life, we wound up down at IKEA (one of my favorite stores, after Costco and Target -- both of which I visited today in some capacity, by the way) to help Paula search out items for her new house.

My "win" for today was that the gas prices at Costco didn't go up between yesterday and today. Not that $3.87 per gallon is anything to be happy about. It's painful! I am certainly trying to drive carefully and as little as possible (without letting not driving consume my live or turn me into a hermit).

Tomorrow Katie and I plan to go to Folklife. We're going back on Monday, too, and will meet up with Corinne.

I am really enjoying the 3-day weekend. It's nice to go to bed on Saturday night and not feel like the weekend is nearly over. I've even been productive. I packed up all of my winter clothes and reorganized my drawers using my brand new Komplement boxes (from IKEA of course).

  1. Yes, Sequel was planned. That's been a popular question. How is your house shopping going? Getting any domestic ideas while at Ikea or Target?
