Free at Last!

I'm finally offically free for the summer!

Last week Katie and I spend a whopping 7 hours per day at the district's "behavior institute" to learn techniques in behavior and classroom management. It was pretty good actually (and I got 3 credits through Seattle U, which eventually add up to more money), but sitting for 6 hours per day (we got an hour for lunch) on the hard lunchroom benches and then the hard plastic seats at Madison Middle School was unpleasant.

Yesterday we went down to the parade. It was pretty funny, because Uncle Peter was across the street from us! We had much better seats though, because while we had to stand (whereas uncle Pete got to sit), we were in the shade the whole time, and quite comfortable. After the parade (which was REALLY long, with lots of Obama supporters!), we walked down to Seattle Center, but it was so crowded and hot there, we left pretty quickly. I did see some friends (Robin and Mel and a whole bunch of their friends) as we were leaving. Oh, and the whole thing was complicated because I broke my toe yesterday morning when I accidently kicked the vaccuum with my bare foot! Last night (when my toe had swollen up and hurt so badly that I almost couldn't put my sandal back on) I finally broke down and got my crutches back from Grandma. They've helped a bit, but I don't really use them around the house.

Today Grandma took Katie and I to Boom Noodle for lunch. It was really good! And while we were at the restaraunt, Grandma told us the story of Banjo eatting the petrified mouse! Yuck!

Tomorrow I take Katie downtown so that Ruth can clean her teeth. And at some point I need to leave Katie home and go shopping for her birthday (which is on the 9th)
