Happy New Year!

Wow! It's hard to believe that it is already 2009. I clearly remember when it turned 2000 and people were predicting mass disaster due to computer failure. It didn't happen, and the only computer failure of significance that I heard of this year were 1st generation Zunes, which didn't appropriately account for leap year, so they shut down yesterday...I don't know why the machine would know or care that it was a day ahead and shut down, but oh well. I don't even have one, and unlike the people they talked about on NPR this morning, my new years eve party (pizza and wii with Katie and her mom) wasn't ruined by Zune shutting down.

Tonight I made the most fantastic taco salad for dinner. It was another recipe from the Best 30-minute Recipe book that Grandma gave Katie and I at the start of the school year. We are already contemplating different variations we could try, because really, it was the awesome homemade (by me I might add) lime-cilantro dressing that made the salad incredible. I gave Stu a copy of the recipe book for Christmas. I hope he uses it because it is great!

Since I made dinner, my sous chef Katie is cleaning up the kitchen. I like that trade off.
