Halloween

My fingerless gloves are coming along quite nicely. I finished one and have gotten to the thumb on the other. I can't wait to wear them!

Halloween was fun. I gave out lots and lots of candy. A few trick-or-treaters were a little non-traditional...such as teh heard of 15+ college-age Japanese exchange students (who were trick-or-treating with Easter baskets) and the guy who must have been about 40 who stuck out his hands after I gave his kids some candy. So I gave him a small candy bar to make him go away...because what else would I do?

  1. I made a point of requiring all of the kids to say thank you after I handed them their treats. "And what do you say?...."

  2. I did that too! And when a few kids tried to take more than one full-sized candy bar (after I specifically said "you can choose ONE") I stopped them. My inner teacher came to swift action -- I grabbed the candy bar, put it back, and said "only 1". It was quite effective.
