I've gone through a dry spell with my blog entries. Well, a better assessment of the situation would be, I'm drowning with my job at the moment (you know, trying to do a full time job in 2.5 days a week), and this is the first moment I've spend having fun, not trying to catch up on work. The good news is that this should all be over next week. I can almost taste October 1st!
So last week when dad was working on Grampa's bathroom, some rogue tile chips evaded the broom and one was lodged in Grampa's foot. None of us could see or feel it on his skin, but he swore it was there and it hurt when he walked (though he still managed to go out for his regular exercise). Grandma started to think it was all in his head, and I started wondering if it might be something in his shoe or sock. Then my mom put on the goofy goggles and found the shard of tile! Sure enough, the sand-sized sharp bit was lodged in the ball of his foot! Thankfully, it no longer is.

Here is a photo from mine and Jesse's birthday party. The cakes (angel food by Nance and chocolate chocolate by Ruth) were fantastic. They were accompanied by Grandma's homemade ice cream. We all agreed that it was our best dessert combo ever. We plan to top it at Thanksgiving when we throw in some pumpkin pies and my mom's pecan pie.
My week and the height of busy-ness will be topped off tomorrow with 2 IEP meetings.

You really need to click on the last picture to get the full effect (and to see that I'm immitating my new mousepad, not being bratty on my birthday)!
You two look like twins!
