One thing that really sucks is that Dad wanted to be home from Jamaica in time to see all of the little kids in the neighborhood trick-or-treating! At least we could take some pictures!

Dad in the hospital
As soon as the trick-or-treating was done (well, as soon as we ran out of candy), Katie and I headed up the UW hospital to see my dad. They got home from Jamaica late Thursday night, and his leg was asleep. He didn't worry about it until the morning, when it was STILL asleep. Mom took him in to the doctor first thing Friday morning and they sent him on to the hospital. By the time we got there, he had had a small surgery (where he wasn't asleep, just heavily drugged) where they put some sort of line full of blood thinner through his veins to try to break up the clots in his right ankle. So he is in ICU, on floor 5East, room 502. He wasn't allowed to lift his head or bend at the waist (because of the thing they had inside him), so they had him pretty drugged up. I'm guessing it is so that he wouldn't care that he had to lie still. Ruth and Calvin were there as well, and Mom was happy because we brought her some clothes and things, though she had left Dad for about an hour earlier in the day, so that she could go up to Weaving Works and buy some sock yarn and needles!
