President Barack Obama!

I am so excited over last night's election. Katie and I went to a party at Julie's house (across the street from Mom and Dad's). It was really fun and festive, especially because we were doing so well the whole evening long. We taught Grace (who is 3.5) and Francesca (who is in 1st grade and the daughter of some people who came to the party) that as far as the map goes, blue is good, red is bad. It was very entertaining. We could hardly believe it at exactly 8 pm when they announced Barack as the winner! We had to flip around to other channels (CNN and MSNBC) to make sure that they were saying the same thing. We started screaming and getting very excited. Then of course we all had to wait around for the speeches.

John McCain did a really good job during his concession speech, I thought. And Barack did an amazing job, of course. The only cringing thing was Michelle Obama's dress. Usually she looks so good, but especially on the wide screen TV, she looked about 9 months pregnant with triplets from the front (but from the side looked just fine). The weird red design was definitely not flattering.

Today at work was great. We spent most of the day celebrating. It isn't surprising that the kids were incredibly motivated to read about presidents, talk about Barack (and the presidency), and begin letters to President Obama!
