Yesterday Katie read an article in the newspaper about the need for more pet food at the food banks and that more and more pets were being dropped off at shelters because people couldn't afford to feed them. They said that the Humane Society was have a pet food drive today in the parking lot at Qwest field. So we went to Costco and bought a big bag of dog food and a big bag of cat food to donate. This morning I dropped it off. A few other people had already brought food, but the people working there were really surprised by how much food we had: 25 pounds of cat food, 50 pounds of dog food. The woman asked where I found bags so big and when I told her "Costco," she said, "I should have known!"
