Saturday, August 1st, 2009 – At Sea

We are at sea today, so we’ve been enjoying the entertainment options on the ship. Katie and I played (and won) a trivia game with a guy named Bob who joined our team (because he was alone and you had to have between 2 and 6 players on your team). For our prize, we each got a visor. It’s not too ugly, I suppose – maybe I’ll use it if I need a hat on one of our adventures. Then if I lose it I won’t be too sad!

We swam twice today in the covered pool. It’s a heated saltwater pool and lots of fun to paddle around in because there are big waves as the ship sways around!

After dinner Katie and I played the penny slots. Paula gave us each 2 quarters and I won both of mine back. Katie lost hers. We’ve decided that penny slots are about as much gambling as we’d ever really have a desire to do, because you don’t feel bad losing 50 cents! While we were there a man who works in the casino came over and asked how old I was. I’m absolutely certain he thought I was under age. I had to tell him twice that I was 27. I think that the first time I said it he thought he’d misheard.

Oh, and we got a free pull of this one slot machine where I won the ugliest keychain imaginable. I think I’ll keep it just to bring it home and show people how ugly it is.
