Yesterday was spent on the ship. Nothing particularly memorable happened - oh! Katie did win a lot of crap in a finish-that-song contest! Including cards for the weirdest bingo game we've ever played. And I've decided to block out the dinnertime conversations of our tablemates.

The Empress Hotel!
Today we were in Victoria. We walked from the ship to the Empress Hotel, where we caught a bus out to Butchart Gardens.
The sunken garden used to be a limestone quarry for portland cement. Mrs. Butchart decided that she didn't like seeing the ugly quarry in her backyard. So she made things pretty.
After the gardens, we went back to the Empress for tea. It was grand!
