We boarded the ship at around 11:30 am, after my mom so nicely dropped us off at the cruise terminal. It was nice to have such easy travel to our vacation!
We checked in at the terminal, then carried our bags aboard because the woman on shore said that she thought our rooms were all ready for us. WRONG! So we had to wheel our stuff around with us until 1 o’clock. Thankfully I had my rolling suitcase and a backpack, so it wasn’t too cumbersome. While we waited for our room, we went up top to the buffet lunch with downtown Seattle in the background. We even saw the Blue Angels finishing up their practice run!
In the afternoon, as we were setting sail, Katie got a manicure and haircut in the spa.
Dinner was…interesting… We were assigned to table 190, and as we approached the table (which is one of the big group tables where they put either a big family or a few smaller groups together), a VERY rude family started yelling at us that this was their table for their family and that they didn’t care what our cards said. It took 20 minutes for them to find a new table for us, but we were happy to wait, because we certainly didn’t want to sit with those charmers! Our new table is much better, though we’re pretty sure they’re all crazy conservative republicans. At least they greeted us with smiles!
