Friday, not the 13th.

Today went well. I got to see all of the people who helped me with the out of compliance IEPs, which was fun. I'm very lucky because most people don't know all of the high up people and I'm not afraid to ask them questions or for help in getting things that I need. Last week Becky (who is in charge of the consulting teachers and works directly under Colleen...she's the one who helped get me lined up for the job interview and helped with all of the IEPs) asked me to write a letter regarding the problems with the new math curriculum and what we've been asked to do with it in special ed (with NO direction or help). Today she told me that it was very well written (and that she was impressed) and that she'd passed it on to SpEd big wigs. We'll see what winds up happening.

And I got to spend all day with Susan (even when we were assigned to small groups), which was a lot of fun. We walked to PCC and had soup and rolls for lunch. Then we stopped at McDonald's on the way back because PCC was unable to fulfill our need for chemical-laden carbonated beverages. Next week I'm going to stop by Sanislo to see Susan and photocopy some things to use at my school.

I'm at Grandma and Grampa's right now. I brought him our full bottle of mucinex (not the one with only a few left because I don't want him to think he can't use as many as he needs), which really seems to be helping him. Grandma took Katie and I out for Mexican and we brough some back for Grampy.

Later tonight I will cook up the chicken I defrosted today (so that there's no risk of it going bad) and we'll eat it tomorrow. I made another trip to MacPherson's today and got a 10 pound bag of baking potatoes, some tiny bananas, mushrooms, garlic, and an acorn squash. I've also been looking through the adds and will make the rounds at the grocery stores this weekend with Katie.

This afternoon I put the dishes from the dishwasher away and cleaned out the sink. It was disgusting because Stuie keeps coming home and leaving things in the sink partially rinsed. I had to scrub the sink with Comet because it had a slimy film on it -- nasty! And I took out the trash, which had very little in it, but really smelled awful.

I really enjoyed my no student day.
