Anchorage: day 2

This morning Emily and I made apple cinnamon waffles for breakfast. They were really good.

It was a good thing that we had a good breakfast, because after stopping off at REI to rent some cross-country skis, we drove up to Hatcher Pass for a day of skiing. It was a lot of work going up the hill. We went all the way up to a gold mine. After skiing around up there, checking the place out, we got a nice long ride back down the hill.

On our way back to the house, we stopped at Anchorage's first and only Target.

Tonight we had an excellent spaghetti dinner and called Grampa to wish him a happy 83rd birthday! It sounded like they were having a fun party. Then Emily and I drove over to her friend Rachel's house to borrow some snow shoes for tomorrow. I'm very excited.
