Anchorage: day 4

Emily modeling a maternity top (that she didn't buy) wearing the scary fake belly they had in the dressing room.

Today we took it easy, especially compared to our previous days' adventures. Instead of a high powered workout, we did some high powered shopping for maternity clothes. It turns out that Old Navy was a great find, because all of their clearance maternity clothes were an extra 50% off. Emily was able to get many pair of capris and shorts for anywhere from $1 to $3.50 each! Because of the great deal, she also got a few shirts at their regular price. After our power shopping (aided by a giant Orange Julius), we went out for some Thai food for lunch.

We went to some other stores, but they weren't so hot. It turns out that JC Penny had lousy maternity clothes and Nordstrom had none that we could find. There was a maternity store in the mall though. We went into it, and they had some nice stuff (especially when compared to the awfulness we saw). In the dressing rooms, they had a fake belly that you could strap on so that you could see how things would fit when the baby got big. It was rather creepy, but Emily put it on to pose for some pictures. She wound up getting a nice gray sweater that looks good now and will continue to fit when her belly gets big (at least according to the fake belly test that we did in the dressing room).

Tonight we picked Neil up from work and got a tour of his lab. It was pretty cool.

We took Banjo to the dog park again this evening and then went to the Moose's Tooth for pizza. It was really good! Now we're winding up our evening with some TV (like LOST!) and knitting.

  1. Ooh, the Moose's tooth is the best pizza. Wish I could have a bite. I looked at that picture of Emily and said wow she looks big. Glad to hear it was just fake, otherwise she would be huge before Aug. Glad you are having a good time.
