For Valentine's Day, Katie took me out to breakfast at Starbucks. I had my new favorite black tea latte and portabello mushroom and spinach piadini. Then we barely made it to Costco for gas. We hadn't remembered that there was going to be construction on I-5 and got on the freeway with zero bars left on the gas gauge. Nerve wracking! We did some shopping (yay coupons!) and visited Mom and Dad and Grandma and Grampa. And I picked up the gifts that Ruth had for Emily. Thankfully I was able to shove them into my suitcase. There was a little bit more than I had been expecting! We finished off our day with a dinner at Blue C Sushi. Their happy hour was great. We ordered one of everything, which was more than we could eat, but fun.
Valentine's Day gifts: "Snuggle Puppy" from Katie and a box of See's nuts and chews (to share with Katie) from Mom and Dad.
Tomorrow morning I fly to Anchorage to visit Emily and Neil! I'm excited. Check back soon for fun photos.
