Friday, February 20, was the final day of my Alaskan adventure.
In the morning, I finally saw a moose! He just wandered into the side yard to eat some trees (it looked like he was going to take out a baby pine tree) and take a long rest by the compost bin.
Emily, Banjo, and I went on a long hike along some trails near their house. It was lots of fun. I got to see the lake near their house where they skate (but bummer, no skates for me to wear, so we didn't get a chance to skate!). It's neat. They clean up the ice with trucks that drive around, putting a nice new layer of water on top. Once the trucks left, we pranced around on the ice a bit. Banjo enjoyed skidding around.
Emily and I rounded out the day by making peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, taking a trip to the local knitting store, and last but not least, a trip to a bookstore.
I can't wait for Emily and Neil to come home!
